Los adjetivos y los pronombres posesivos:
A) nunca van precedidos del artículo
B) en tercera persona singular concuerdan en género con el posesor.
This is my mother.
His name’s Michael.
This is my father.
Her name’s Rose.
This is my cat.
Its name is Tom.
C) son invariables en género y número
“Are those her socks?” “No, hers are pink.”
"Esos son tus calcetines?" "No, ella son de color rosa."
“Is this my ruler?” “No, that’s yours over there.”
"Este es mijefe", "No, tu (que es) está allá."
de quién ... ?
• El interrogativo español de quien?: se convierte en whose en inglés.
“Whose are the scarves in the kitchen?”
”The plain one is mine, the striped one is yours.”
"¿De quiénes son los pañuelos en la cocina?"
"El llano es mío, el rayado es tuyo."
• Las formas (the) ... one / (the) ... ones se usan para evitar la repetición de un sustantivo expresado con anterioridad.
En presencia de un demostrativo existen dos posibles construcciones:
Whose book is this?
Whose is this book?
la primera es la única que se puede usar en presencia de un pronombre personal en función de sujeto:
Whose book is it?

This is one of those cases where it is important to remember that possessive pronouns never take apostrophes, even though possessive nouns do.
“Who’s”always means only “who is,” or “who has,”
“Who’s that guy with the droopy mustache?”
“Who’s been eating my porridge?”
“Whose”is the possessive form of “who” and is used as follows:
“Whose dirty socks are these on the breakfast table?”
